Flooring & Tile

Hardwood, LVP and tile installed flat, level and laid out right — plus refinishing for floors worth saving.

Floors take more abuse than any other surface in the house, and they're the hardest thing to fix after the fact. We install and refinish flooring throughout Waltham and Greater Boston — hardwood, engineered wood, luxury vinyl plank, and tile of every format.

The prep is where a floor is won or lost. We check the subfloor for flatness and fasten down anything that moves before a plank or a tile goes in. A subfloor that's out of tolerance gives you hollow spots and lippage in tile and squeaks in hardwood, and no amount of good installation fixes a bad substrate.

We also acclimate wood flooring in the house before install — important here, where indoor humidity swings hard between a January heating season and an August afternoon. Skipping that step is why so many floors cup or gap in the first year.

Layout matters as much as technique. We plan the run direction, set the starting line off the room rather than off a wall that isn't straight, and lay tile out dry so cuts land where they'll be least noticeable — not as a two-inch sliver at the doorway.

We also refinish existing hardwood. A lot of older floors around here have plenty of life left and just need sanding and a new finish.
