Tiled showers, vanities, tubs and full bath gut-jobs — waterproofed right so they last decades, not seasons.
A bathroom is the smallest room in the house and the least forgiving. Water gets into anything you cut a corner on, and you find out two years later. We build bathrooms so that doesn't happen.
Almeida Family Construction remodels full baths, half baths and primary suites throughout Waltham and Greater Boston. That includes demo, any framing changes, plumbing and electrical rough-in, waterproofing, tile, vanities, glass, fixtures and trim.
The part most people never see is the part that matters most. We set a proper sloped mortar bed or a pre-formed pan, run a bonded waterproof membrane up the walls, seal every corner and penetration, and flood-test before a single tile goes on. Backer board alone is not waterproofing, and we don't treat it like it is.
We're careful about layout, too — niche placement centered on the tile course, a curb that drains toward the drain, a door that swings clear of the vanity. Small decisions that make a bathroom feel considered instead of thrown together.
Most full bathrooms take two to four weeks. If it's your only bathroom, tell us and we'll sequence the work to get you back to a functioning shower as quickly as possible.
